We adhere to the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) contained within the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). These principles govern how we collect, use, disclose, store, secure and dispose of Personal Information.

What is Personal Information and why do we collect it?

Personal Information refers to information or an opinion that identifies an individual. This may include, but is not limited to, names, addresses, email addresses, and telephone numbers.
We collect Personal Information through a range of methods, including correspondence, telephone and telehealth interactions, email communication, our website www.nextchapterot.com.au, publicly available sources, cookies, and from third parties. While we may include links to external websites, we do not guarantee the privacy practices of those third parties.


Personal Information is collected primarily to provide our services, communicate with clients, and for marketing purposes. We may also use this information for secondary purposes that are closely related to the primary purpose, where you would reasonably expect such use or disclosure. You may opt out of marketing communications at any time by contacting us in writing.


Where appropriate and practicable, we will explain why we are collecting your Personal Information and how it will be used.

Sensitive Information

Sensitive Information, as defined by the Privacy Act, includes information relating to matters such as racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, trade union or professional memberships, criminal history, and health information.

Sensitive information will be used by us only:

  • For the primary purpose for which it was obtained

  • For a directly related secondary purpose

  • With your consent; or where required or authorised by law.

Use of Artificial Intelligence and Automated Tools

We may utilise secure digital systems, including artificial intelligence enabled tools, to support administrative and clinical documentation tasks, such as drafting reports and summarising information. These tools are used to assist service delivery and do not replace professional judgement. All documentation and recommendations are reviewed and approved by a qualified clinician prior to finalisation. We take reasonable steps to ensure that any tools used manage Personal Information in accordance with the Privacy Act and the Australian Privacy Principles.

Third Parties

Where reasonable and practicable to do so, we will collect your Personal Information only from participants. However, in some circumstances we may be provided with information by third parties. In such a case we will take reasonable steps to ensure that you are made aware of the information provided to us by the third party.

Disclosure of Personal Information

Your Personal Information may be disclosed in the following circumstances:

  • Third parties where you consent to the use or disclosure; and

  • Where required or authorised by law.

  • Within our business group, including sharing relevant information such as contact details and communication preferences across associated brands, where appropriate to provide relevant updates and services.

Security of Personal Information

We take reasonable steps to protect Personal Information from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.

When Personal Information is no longer required, we will take reasonable steps to destroy or permanently de-identify it. Most client information is retained in secure records for a minimum of seven years

You may request access to the Personal Information we hold about you and request corrections where necessary, subject to applicable exceptions. Requests should be made in writing.

We do not charge a fee for access requests, however an administrative fee may apply for the provision of copies. Identification may be required prior to release of information.

Maintaining the Quality of your Personal Information

We aim to ensure that all Personal Information is accurate, complete and up to date. Please notify us as soon as practicable if your information changes or requires correction.
